WDs Get Slightly More Temperature Control Parts Business for Asian Vehicles from Repair Shops than for Domestic Vehicles According to IMR’s Repair Shop Tracking Study

IMR Inc.’s Repair Shop Tracking Study reveals that WDs get 59.1 percent of the temperature control parts business from independent repair shops. This percentage is higher than the amount of business (56.6 percent) WDs get from shops for temp control products for domestic vehicles.

“There are a variety of reasons why repair shops are going to the WDs slightly more often than the retailers for temperature control products,” said Bill Thompson, president and CEO of IMR Inc. “The retailers are losing this bit of extra business as they are getting 37.3 percent of the repair shop business for temp control parts for Asian vehicles compared to 40 percent of the domestic vehicle business.”
